We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson's case, by shouting out one word - SHAZAM - this streetwise fourteen-year-old foster kid can turn into the grown-up superhero Shazam.
Bemmygail's Guide: 10 - Safest
1 - Danger
Family-Friendly - 10/10 It is totally family friendly! Watch it with your kids, from all ages. I recommend this.
Christians - 9/10 The film is of course not about Christian faith, and no mention of God, Lord, Jesus, or the Bible. But the film did not ruin the name of God. I remember it mentioned "The Wisdom of Solomon" in the movie, but I don't think it ruins anything about the Bible. The movie is not evil or demonic, and I believe even Christians are safe to watch this film.
Positive Message - 10/10 I think all superhero films have that positive message of becoming a hero, or doing heroic deeds. The movie will encourage any kids to become great, with the help of their family. Brotherhood, and being close to your siblings is also one great value we can learn from this movie.
Language - 6/10 Language isn't constant, but characters do say "ass," "s--t," "oh my God," and more.
Violence - 8/10 This is an action film, so we expect fight scenes, destruction, killing, chasing, but because it's a family movie, and with right cinematography and film making techniques, we almost couldn't notice them, or we notice them but we have to see those to understand the story. I promise, no gore, or disgusting stuff.
Sex/Nudity - 10/10 There is a strip club, but we cannot see what's inside. And it ain't that noticeable.
Drugs/Smoking - 8/10 Nope.
Did Bemmy Like it? Yes, I did! Me, and my 15 year old brother, and the whole family!
Shazam! is like a fresh new face of DC films. From the trailer itself, it's already surely a comedic, family-friendly film. It's an awesome experience to keep laughing with jokes that are not evil or sexual. I thank God people still continue to make films for family, that has clean jokes! Trust me, you should watch this with yoah fam!
