Bemmygail's Guide: 10 - Safest

1 - Danger

  • Family-Friendly - 10/10 It is family-friendly. It's a fun, somehow normal teen adventure film. If you are an avid reader of adventure novels, and a teenager, grab your whole family to watch this. Just make sure to guide the kids 13 and younger if they have questions or are shocked about Medusa's face.

  • Christians - 3/10 This film is definitely not a Christian film. If you are strict about watching only those Bible-based films, then this is not for you. The film tells about Poseidon as Percy's father. Percy is a demigod, half-human and half god. We know that this is greek mythology and not Bible God. I consider this a fun-filled action-adventure film for the family, but if you think you might have confusion about gods, then better not watch this film. It's just good for entertaining your eyes about the possibilities of visual effects, and out of this world story.

  • Positive Message - 8/10 This movie shows a father and son relationship, and forgiveness. It also shows sacrifice for friendship. And your normal lessons to learn from most films, like believing in yourself, discovering your true powers and potential stuff. I am a pro "positive message". Just make sure that your kids see and learn the positive ones, not the bad ones.

  • Language - 6/10 "Rated PG for action violence and peril, some scary images and suggestive material, and mild language". A character says he has a 'horses ass'. The character is part man part horse. A character says "if you see my dad on the highway to hell, kick his ass for me." - IMDB. I like the language, that it's modern even though the film is a combination of greek mythology clothing and modern earth.

  • Violence - 7/10 You can expect action-packed scenes, but the movie is also in modern times, there's a night club, and arcade games present. There's also Hades and Medusa's creepy face. Characters killed and sword fight scenes. I think it's just enough for kids 13 and up. If your kid has questions, or you feel like it's too much action for him, you can guide your kid that the characters must fight for the good and not the bad.

  • Sex/Nudity - 10/10 There wasn't any nudity in this film. You can be sure you won't see bed scenes, but just teen flick.

  • Drugs/Smoking - 9/10 There was a night club, and people dancing and drinking, so be advised. I say it's just mile, but better guide any kid watching. Explain that this is not a place for good fun, only people of the dark like to go to clubs unless of course missionaries were sent there.

  • Did Bemmy Like it? Yes, I did. It's fun, but not as fun as marvel films though.

Bemmygail's comments:

It's a fox entertainment production. I like the pace, and the story is quite funny. I think the protagonist reminds me of adult Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon. He looks cute, but the girl looks older. But the girl looks gorgeous, especially her eyes. That's my opinion.
